December 13, 2002 Robby post-Xmas tour of midwest

Robby Krieger will perform some midwest dates following Xmas. update: DID NOT HAPPEN This was rumored to be likely following the postponement of the Las Vegas show due to Stewart's injury. One date has been learned so far, for Saturday, 12/28 at The Pig Pen in Clinton, Iowa. The full tour schedule will be posted on www.robbykrieger.com if and when it's official. (thanks, Tom D.)

October 10, 2002 new magazine reference

Total Guitar magazine, Summer 2002 (cover: Hendrix) listed the 100 Greatest Guitarists as voted on from 440 nominations. On Page 45 and listed as #86: "Robby Krieger ... Doors guitarist whose slippery lead playing was at its finest on their masterpiece Light My Fire. Not the Will Young version." Included with the story is a photo of the Waiting For The Sun cover.

Robby Krieger Band may have some new tour dates coming up. Two dates were posted on Robby's message board today, for shows in Arizona and Florida.

July 26, 2002 Robby on TV

Robby's TV appearance on "Married With Children" was re-run this evening on FX Channel. The episode is entitled 'Rock Of Ages' and includes other 60's rockers Spencer Davis, John Sebastian, Richie Havens, Peter Noone, and Mark Lindsay.

The storyline is that Al Bundy is competing to sell the most shoes to win a trip to Hawaii. During the last ten minutes of the show, he and the family encounter Robby and the others in an airport lounge. Robby has both a speaking part and a singing part!!!!

I learned that The Doors will also be performing at the Toronto show on September 27th. There are a few pictures from this afternoon's rehearsal in the gallery, as well as many from the recent June tour. The Toronto date is now the 29th.
