Now Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio), chairman of the Committee on House Administration, is cozying up to Robby Krieger, guitarist for the Doors and a pal of Ney staffer Rich Landon.  Yesterday the 48-year-old Ney gave a tour of the Capitol to the 56-year-old Krieger, who's in town for a gig at Jaxx in Springfield, and has managed to survive the groupies and drug-crazed rock-star existence that famously killed his band mate Jim Morrison.

"He's a very charming guy and genuinely interested in the history of the Capitol," Ney told us.  "I went to Ohio State and I would hear the Doors all the time being played in the dorm rooms. . . . But if I had to sing to get elected, I wouldn't be talking to you." Still, he added, "I know the lyrics of their songs."
