The Morrison Hotel was in the newspaper today. It seems that even though the football stadium deal is dead, the neighborhood still has been zoned for redevelopment (which means property can be condemned and acquired against the owners' wishes) and now there is a plan to build housing in the area (mostly $300,000 condos and a token few "affordable" units. The Morrison was mentioned by name twice in the article, and that it was the site of the album cover. There were even some quotes by current residents of the hotel.
Bottom line: it appears its days are numbered once again, though it may be as long as several years before something happens, or as soon as one year.
