"This is one of the most competitive years I can remember," commented SHOF
Chairman/CEO and songwriter extraordinaire, Hal David. "Over the past four
decades, the SHOF has come to represent the legacy of the great popular song
in all of its richness and variety, and, as a result, our voting members
have never faced a more challenging ballot."
The organization, which is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of
those composers and lyricists who create popular music around the world,
returns for its highly anticipated 39th annual induction and awards dinner,
scheduled for Thursday, June 19th, 2008 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New
