If it's surprising to you to find that Snoop, Dylan and JT play golf, well, Jamie Diaz, Golf Digest's senior writer, tells AOL Music the game is a refuge for a lot of musicians. "Musicians tend to have daylight hours free, and most have learned that there are a lot of worse ways to spend them than on a golf course," he says. "The dexterity and creativity required to play an instrument usually allows them to pick up the game quickly, and their familiarity with disciplined practice gives them the tools to improve. But the biggest thing I found is that musicians are invariably soulful people, and they find golf a soulful game."
Several of the musicians will hit the links Monday morning in L.A. as part of the Golf Digest Celebrity Invitational. The night before, they'll be doing what they do best at a party announcing the pairings. Dweezil Zappa, Stephen Stills and the Doors' Robby Krieger will be among those taking part in a jam. Wonder how Tiger Woods is with a guitar?
