ST. RITA HIGH SCHOOL concert

Ray Manzarek, along with "special guests" Robby Krieger, Ian Astbury, Ty Dennis, and Phil Chen ... played a benefit concert at Ray's alma mater, St. Rita High School in Chicago, Illinois, to kick off a 100th anniversary celebration for the school.

The band played a short set of hits, described by a fan who attended as a "flawless performance with a very sedate and beautifully singing Ian, who is sporting a new haircut."  There were probably several thousand people there, mostly kids and family who attend the school.  The introduction of the band by Ray was put as:  "I'd like to take this opportunity to bring out Robby Krieger of The Doors ... I wanna bring out Ian Astbury of the Cult who's our lead singer... Ty Dennis on drums, Phil Chen on bass and we're gonna play you some DOORS songs."    There was coverage by Chicago's ABC news.

The outdoor concert was at St. Rita High School in Chicago, where he graduated from in 1956.  The fundraising concert kicked off of a 100th anniversary celebration weekend for St. Rita.  (thanks, Alex)       see set list
