RAY MANZAREK and MICHAEL McCLURE

LOS ANGELES CENTRAL LIBRARY - July 14, 2002        2:00 pm

They performed for about 1:10, with Ray playing keyboards behind McClure's poetry as usual. Ray played a Kurzweil PC88, the customary setup for his appearances.

Dorothy Manzarek was also there, along with McClure's wife. The auditorium was just about full. Ray and Michael signed & posed for pix afterward.  Ray told one of my friends that Stewart Copeland will be the drummer at the Sept. 6th reunion show, "with John's blessing".

Since we were only about a mile north of Morrison Hotel, friends Steve, Josh, and Mark (who keeps me posted on the plans to raze that site) and I drove down there.

Although not nearly as scary as the Hard Rock Cafe area, it is still intimidating with people hanging out windows and pan-handling on the street. The four of us went inside (safety in numbers!), quickly took some pix posed in front of the old mustard-colored entryway tiles that were in photos from that shoot, and then high-tailed it back to our cars.
