2008 Tribaljazz NOT performing
John Densmore and
Tribaljazz will NOT perform at this year's "L.A. Holiday Celebration 2008"
as I reported a few days ago. When I wrote the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion
for more info, I was informed that the broadcast on Wednesday night is a re-run
of a portion of last year's event, and that Tribaljazz is not performing this
year. That being said, the one-hour re-run is scheduled for broadcast
locally on L.A. PBS channel 28 at 10:00 p.m. and will be repeated numerous

2008 Tribaljazz on t.v.
John Densmore and
Tribaljazz kick off
this year's "L.A. Holiday Celebration 2008" on Wednesday, December 17th.
The t.v. special highlights the largest multi-cultural show in the country,
performed before an audience of 9,000+ in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in
downtown Los Angeles. The one-hour show is scheduled for broadcast locally

John Densmore's Tribaljazz will be performing
in Windsor, Ontario, Canada as part of that city's kickoff of
Carrousel of The Nations, if I am reading a story correctly. Opening
weekend is June 13-15, and the story says Tribaljazz is playing on that Sunday.
I found nothing on the band's MySpace page or website about this yet, so don't

John at Book Soup
John Densmore was at West
Hollywood's Book Soup book store earlier this evening,
along with Janie Hendrix and Jimi Hendrix co-biographer John McDermott.
Jim Henke, author of the "Jim Morrison Scrapbook" was supposed to be there as
well, but I learned he had to go to New York for a Rock Hall matter. John
and the others appeared together and traded some anecdotes about Jimi and Jim.
The Doors' manager Jeff Jampol was also on hand. Following about 25
minutes at the podium, they moved to a counter at the rear of the store and
signed books. John was wearing a Tribaljazz tee shirt under his jacket.
