Tradition Tapas Kitchen   and   Forbidden Bar & Louge
8512 Santa Monica Boulevard     West Hollywood, CA

'Tradition Tapas Kitchen' is the new restaurant scheduled to open on Friday, October 28th at 8512 Santa Monica Boulevard.  The ground floor that was once the workshop and rehearsal space used by The Doors is a newly remodeled space that will serve traditional Mediterranean cuisine. The bathroom used as a vocal booth by Jim Morrison during the "L.A. Woman" recording sessions remains on the right side as you enter the interior dining room from the outside dining patio.  Most of the exterior walls have been re-painted white from the eye-popping 'Pepto Bismol pink' used by the last tenants.

'Forbidden Bar & Lounge' is the upstairs lounge which once housed The Doors office.  This newly remodeled space will offer a more contemporary style of Mediterranean food than the downstairs restaurant.  The room is being outfitted with some great cozy looking furniture as well as a VIP area.  A platform at the rear of the room can spotlight a DJ, live music, or a belly dancer!

The green wood doors that flank the patio-facing Mexican mural were previously the entrances from the sidewalk when it was Mexico Restaurante y Barra.  The doors will be replaced with wrought iron fencing.  Those are not decorative blue stripes on the columns, that is painters' masking tape.

The brass plaque commemorating the significance of the building will remain mounted on the front sidewalk-facing column, although it may be replaced.

Tradition Tapas Kitchen plans to be open seven days a week.  When their website goes live, it will be linked on the home page.
